The Grand Finale: ‘What Comes Around Goes Around’
As the Fashion For Good Museum prepares to close its doors. We were invited to the captivating exhibition last Friday, January 26th. The evening had a delightful program, including intros by curators Sophie Jager – van Duren and Alyxandra Westwood, live performances by Atelier Reservé and Patchwork Family, topped off with a groovy DJ set by Philintheblanks.
Exploring Circularity in Fashion
The heart of this exhibition lies in its exploration of how circularity manifests in different spheres of influence. ‘What Comes Around Goes Around’ unveils inspirational displays. It offers a tangible glimpse into the future of a circular fashion industry. The exhibition pays homage to groundbreaking artists, designer and innovators. They reshape the fashion landscape with their visionary solutions.
Flashback: 'Knowing Cotton Otherwise' - Chapter One
As we embark on this final chapter, we look back at the first installment of our Fashion For Good journey. The video, shot in 2023, takes you inside the ‘Knowing Cotton Otherwise’ exhibition at the Fashion For Good Museum. This chapter delves into the collective and communal aspects of the fashion industry. Artists Niño Divino,
Caithlin Courtney Chong, and Noah Cohen are futured. The chapter is moderated by Shaquille Shaniqua Joy.
Knowing Cotton Otherwise': A Glimpse into the Past, Present, and Future
In ‘Knowing Cotton Otherwise,’ artists weave narratives around the history of cotton, exploring themes of heritage, slavery, and sustainability. The exhibition showcases the creative processes of these artists, from Niño Divino’s Dutch Caribbean heritage exploration to Caitlin Courtney Chong’s “Children of Indigo” project, intricately intertwined with the history of cotton and the slave trade. Noah Cohen’s work challenges our perception of urban environments and the origin of found objects.
